This is the third iteration of my portfolio site and the first version I coded myself.
The not-so-secret special ingredient has always been user research. I've collaborated with design leads/recruiters to drive every major version.
Before writing any code, I designed and tested my concept using Figma. And before that, I diagrammed user flows and kept notes in FigJam.
After years of dragging layers around in vector graphics editors, I've been diving head-first into practicing front-end fundamentals. I'm keen on clearing my first 1,000 hours in 2024.
I leaned on Bootstrap for the responsive grid system and utilities. It allowed me to quickly prototype new features and save time. It's helped a ton with the early game, but I foresee us parting ways due to the weak dependency.
I also called in a lightweight Javascript library to animate elements on scroll. Animate At (AAT) JS facilitated smooth animations that helped me achieve the desired effect when scrolling through my work on the homepage.
I've learned so much on the journey to my current portfolio. The tech stack I used gave me the practice I needed to continue progressing. I'm currently learning React to gear up for my next version.
I'm always looking for a new challenge! Let's chat if you have questions or suggestions!
